Who we are
The centre
A healthcare centre in Teo, A Coruña, dedicated to neurorehabilitation.
Where we come from
Foltra was born from a story that changed a life
In 2002, a road accident left Pablo Devesa, aged 22, in a coma with severe brain damage.
His father, Dr Jesús Devesa Múgica — a physician, researcher and professor of Human Physiology — refused to accept that prognosis as the end. He put his scientific experience to work on research aimed at his son's recovery.
Pablo recovered. And that experience changed both their lives for good.
What began as a father's fight to recover his son became Foltra: a medical and scientific project dedicated to studying and treating the recovery potential of the nervous system.
Since then, more than 11,000 patients have come to our centre from Spain and other countries, while the research and the clinical experience have kept developing.
Before accepting that recovery is over, you have to know how far it can go.
What we aim for
Every patient is different. So is every injury.
That is why at Foltra we study your case, look for your potential, and work to develop it.

These are activity figures provided by the foundation itself — how long the centre has been open, how many people have been through it, how many staff it has — not clinical outcomes. Each one is published with its source and its date.
How we are organised
The foundation is governed by a board of trustees, to which the general management reports. Below it sit the medical direction, the organisation and management direction, and the ethics committee with the external services. The healthcare centre provides outpatient rehabilitation, across four areas.

Beyond the centre
Early intervention in A Estrada and Teo
The foundation's work does not end at the centre in Teo. Under concession, Foltra runs an early intervention service in A Estrada and in Teo, staffed by professionals from the centre itself.
Further information pending: the ages it serves, how to access it, and how it is coordinated with the work of the centre.
