Who supports us
Foltra Foundation
Behind the healthcare centre there is a foundation. This page explains how it is governed, how resources are used, and how to help.
Why we exist
Mission
To maximise the independence, the quality of life and the future of children and adults with neurological challenges or complex disabilities, through therapeutic excellence, scientific rigour and transparent, effective health and social care management.
Vision
To be the leading reference in reparative neurogenesis, brain plasticity and early intervention in Galicia, showing that under coordinated, individually tailored stimulation there is always room for progress.
Values
Faith
in human potential
Optimism
in the face of difficulty
Perseverance
day by day, alongside the patient
Work
rigorous, scientific and constant
In Spanish, the initials of these four values spell the centre’s own name: F.O.L.T.R.A.
How it is governed
The board
The board governs the foundation: it approves the accounts, decides how resources are used, and is answerable for the centre's activity matching the foundation's purposes.

Ethics committee
A body independent of the board and of the medical direction, responsible for ensuring that the centre's clinical practice and research activity meet the ethical standards that apply to them.
External services
Some functions are not carried out by the foundation itself but contracted out, because that way they are done better and with independent oversight.

Transparency
Annual reports and accounts will be published in this section. Pending the documents from the client, and a decision on which year to publish from.

How to help
Foltra is a non-profit foundation. What comes in through donations is spent on the centre itself: maintaining and renewing equipment, the facilities, and care for those who cannot meet the full cost of their treatment.

Foltra is a non-profit foundation. What comes in through donations is spent on the centre itself: maintaining and renewing equipment, the facilities, and care for those who cannot meet the full cost of their treatment.
Equipment
Maintaining and renewing the equipment used every day, and being able to add new equipment.
The facilities
The pool, the gym and the therapy rooms need constant upkeep to stay in use.
The care
Being able to treat people and families who cannot meet the full cost of a long treatment.
